About Vestec

Vestec aims to commoditize, standardize, and demystify speech recognition via use of unique artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. We believe speech recognition has not enjoyed widespread acceptance due to: (a) high cost of speech enabling products; (b) poor recognition accuracy of speech engines; (c) reliance on third-party services for application development and maintenance; and (d) unavailability of useful turnkey applications.

Recent advances in artificial intelligence are creating a powerful paradigm shift in speech recognition technologies. Utilization of emerging AI techniques reduces speech engine costs, improves recognition accuracy for both native and non-native speakers, simplifies speech application development and maintenance, and enables creation of standardized “plug-n-play” applications for mass distribution.

Vestec was founded by a distinguished group of AI researchers from Canada’s famed University of Waterloo. Our core team has deep expertise in speech recognition and AI technologies, including fuzzy logic, soft computing, neural networks, natural language processing, and knowledge representation. We have supplemented the core research team with experienced product, engineering, marketing, and sales personnel.
