Vocabulary Size

The Vestec Speech Engine has been designed to support a wide variety of grammar vocabulary sizes. The current standard edition engine supports 500 vocabulary items per recognition. There is no limit on the number of distinct grammars – each containing a maximum of 500 distinct pronunciations – that can be created for a single application. We are working on development of larger vocabulary engines that will support 5,000 and 10,000 keyword grammars.

NOTE: Vocabulary size refers to the number of distinct terms – whether keywords or digits – that can be recognized by the speech engine.
